It showed up in one of my garden boxes. I let it stay because the flowers were beautiful (and, to be honest, I thought it might a potato). Then these translucent and vaguely sinister seed pods appeared. I am torn as to whether I should be collecting them to replant next year, or, preparing for an alien invasion.
ETA: Hibiscus trionum!! Identified by a high school friend, LeeAnn. Also called the flower-of-an-hour (so romantic!).
